Dieter N Vercáriâ		I don't know where this "tradition" came from, but recently (and for the Bundestag elections that are due on next sunday) there have been these big "top candidate duels" on TV. 2 weeks ago Chancellor Schröder (SPD) succeeded to appear more competent and what not than Angela Merkel (CDU), and today Foreign Minister / Vice Chancellor Fischer ripped his FDP opponent Gerhardt to shreds... of cause I'm not too sad to see that the poll-favourized, oppositional conservative / econonmy-liberal boat might go under in the very last minutes before the coming elections, against all odds, but it's bewildering to see that it's all boiled down to this media-friedly dichotomy. I'm in love with a multi-party system, as I would love to see that in our little Talossan world a third and a fourth political party would appear or re-appear on the scene, and I think that this media-friendly political dichotomy isn't going to take us anywhere here in Germany. In duels like this the goverment will always look like a bunch of experts, at least in fields like international politics.

Anyway, go Schrödi, go Joschka! Beat 'em!
