The name of the party is already in the air, isn't it? UTP, Union for Talossan Progress. Might be the third Talossan party that is somehow located on the moderate left side of the political spectrum. ;-)

Maybe it's been the biggest mistake of the "new left" to make these two old egomaniac blabbermouths their figureheads.

The CDU/CSU/FDP people are promising the perserverance of the "reforms" of the social welfare system that are going on since the (Re)union of the 2 Germanies. They want to return to their ideals of unpayed sick days (something that has been cancelled by the Schröder govt.) and more funny features like this, for example a flat fee for a very basical health insurance (100 Euros per head and month, regardless your income).

This is in fact something that might probably happen. It's IMHO slightly better than the CDU/CSU/FDP option, since in some social issues the CSU is closer to the SPD than to the CDU. A CDU/FDP dominated government would be the worst case scenario.

Of course I'm not pining for a CDU/SPD/CSU government, so maybe I oughta vote Green with both votes. Although I'm not too keen on doing so.

Incidentally, I'm registered in the constituency where Joschka Fischer is the direct candidate of the Greens, so I already planned to vote for Fischer with my 1st vote.
