    DEFINITION

    Marriage is a union formed between one individual and one or more individuals as the result of the declaring of desire and consent by those individuals of the age of majority or older infront of a person who is deemed worthy by the Republic of Talossa to witness and certify such conditions have been met and validate the union bestowing upon them all of the rights and priveleges accorded to such a status.

    Representatives Able to Certify Union

    Existing Macronational Representatives

    Marriage is usually officiated as a religious or civil service and those representatives in the macronational community that are able to witness and certify the union shall be considered worthy in the eyes of The Government unless the method of validating the union conflicts in some way with Talossan laws. Those unions that are witnessed and certified in a way that violates Talossan law shall not be recognized until as such time as the conditions are met.

    Republic of Talossa Authorized Marriage Officiant

    There are those unions that are not accorded legal status due to antiquated and prejudiced definitions of marriage in macronations that shall be granted status according to Talossan law.

    If individuals are not able to or unwilling to validate their union macronationally, an Authorized Marriage Officiant shall need to be found and willing to witness and certify the union. Once this Officant is found and their union validated they shall be married in the eyes of The Government from that day forward.

    General Requirements to Validate Union:

    • Must verify the individuals' Identity
    • Must verify the individuals are of the age of Majority or greater
    • Must verify the individuals have the Desire
    • Must verify the individuals grant Consent

    An Authorized Marriage Officiant shall witness and verify that the indviduals are of the age of majority and will enter into the union of their own desire and free will .Once the Authorized Marriage Officiant has verified the conditions and the individuals have submitted the appropriate documents the union shall be recognised and accorded the appropriate rights, responsibilities, and priveleges.

    PROCESS

    For Those Married via Macronational Law

    The citizen may register their union with The Government by sending a copy of the Marriage Certificate, Indentification Cards of all individuals in the union and signatures with a statment saying that the union was formed, to the best of their knowledge, in accordance to the laws of The Government. You may also have this certified by submitting it to an Authorized Marriage Officiant.

    For Those Who Married via an Authorized Marriage Officiant

    The Officiant shall take care of the paperwork to register your marriage with The Government.

    Issuance of a Republic of Talossa Marriage Certificate

    You may request one directly from the Office of the Secretary of State or authorized representative thereof or through an Authorized Marriage Officiant.

    A Marriage Certificate must be issued on the request of any citizen of Talossa who may prove any of the definitions of marriage as listed in this act.

    A fee for the issuance of the certificate of no more that cost of production, plus a surcharge of 15% and shipping and handling may be charged. All funds gained by this process, if any, are to be considered general funds and are under the administrative control of The Government.

    Change in Status of Union

    Any change in marital status for a union that is registered with the Republic of Talossa must also be registered with the The Government. Macronational decisions regarding unions that are existing as a macronational union shall be honored here unless it is in violation of Talossan law.

    Divorce

    A unions that is witnessed and certified solely under to authority of The Government via Authorized Marriage Officiants may be terminated automatically 30 days after the request of one or both of the parties of the marriage contract.

    Annulment

    An annulment, which is a termination of a marriage as if it did not exist due to the conditions for a valid union were found to be incorrect, will be automatically granted at the request of either party within 30 day of the marriage unpon proof of an invalid union.

    DATE OF EFFICACY

    This date shall take affect no more than 60 days after is acceptance into law.

    Current Issues That Also Need to be Dealt With

    • Age of Majority needs to be defined
    • An official Government of Talossa account to send the money to. Who will have access to it and how. How will change in ownership or congiznace be handled.
    • Secure storage for Marriage Verification Documentation.
    • Marriage Application/Registration Form
    • Authorized Marriage Officiant form and requirements
