    > I call upon the new Deputies to bring back the good old Talossan tradition of passing ridiculous laws full of pompous verbiage which only have a tangential relationship with reality. It is a hard law of politics that the more frivolous the issue, the more empassioned the debate - I look forward to knock-down-drag-out debates about crap that really, really doesn't matter.

No, you're not. At least not to positions of Republican Peculiarism. We never endorsed ridiculous laws full of pompous verbiage. :-)

A quick note before I'll dive into this days annoying load of duties (some trouble with mirroring a disk under SunOS, *groan groan groan*): It might be easy to prove empirically that smithing laws has been or become the main activity in the Republic. Look at our northern brethren in the CUG; they are actually discussing issues of grammar, while our Icastolâ during most of her lifetime has been discussing administrative issues. Setting up the emergency board at talossaweb.org has been a matter of a week's work - choosing it the replacement of Witt X is still in the making after almost one full year.

Yes, there should be more "lulz", and positively not the lulz that are caused by Miestrâ and the Bear throwing peppered cream cakes and hot arguments at each other. Passing hilarious laws instead of serious business laws will possibly also not do it for us - a big huge pile of useless legalese would not be an treasure that is attracting me to a micronation if I wasn't already in it.

Kind of we have to overcome our withdrawals from legislating as we experienced and enjoyed it during the formative times of our Republic. We need more stuff that is nice to look at - a more graphical homepage, for instance, that is talking about our history and our people. I be no one really gets attracted by reading a constition and the rest of the laws. As for our habits, if any of us has an idea how to design our web pages, or how to add something to this treasure, just come up with it and show it to the masses, and do not wait until we have written a law that approves of your ideas. Yes, I know, that is against the way of life we got used to - and I say, we've got to learn to live like this, before a Republic of bored legislators withers away because all laws that we ever needed and that we ever could think of have alreay been written.

Now back to the miserable Sun server that is keeping my stress level at peak values since two weeks in a row now.
