The funny thing is that all Dieter's examples, if you changed the names, could have been taken directly from Mad King Bob's old paper, Støttaneu. :)
Which makes me think that Deet should be writing a paper as well. Or a column for QI. Howsabout it? I should point out, and this may disappoint people, that the old days of an 8-page monthly QI are gone because of my increased workload. I'm envisaging a 2-page monthly-at-least QI - one page of news/analysis, one page of editorial in English and Talossan - expandable to 4 pages if for some reason a bunch of material drops from the sky.

Bunch of nonsense, by the way. While I'm no longer in favour of unnecessary constitutional or legal tinkering, the ZRT programme says that the elected government should take primary responsibility for either making cultural initiatives or tapping other citizens on the shoulder and asking them to make such initiatives - assuming that spontaneous grassroots enthusiasm isn't enough. Legislative dirigism has had its day, but executive dirigism has not even gotten started. :)

Every presidential election we'd had after our first has been a boring one-sided contest. If you do something to change that you'll be a Hero of the Republic for sure. Hell, it could be a test of Dermot's "two-party contests are more exciting" theory.
