(last post: March 14, 2008 - 13:42)		It all started Saturday. My oldest nephew was playing in an ice hockey tournament. So, my sister, my mother and I went to the game. Afterwards, we decide to do a bit of shopping and get some lunch. My sister is addicted to Old Navy. She likes the styles and the prices can't be beat. I'm not a big fan of the stuff but I decide to look around anyway. On the sales rack, I found some shirts that looked like rugby jerseys. In fact, some of them were. They're like the old style jerseys with the rubber buttons on them. They also had some with hard plastic button but, the had numbers on the back. I picked up a black and white striped jersey of the latter type. It's well made and it only cost $5 US. I brought it home, tried it on and at first I didn't think it looked good. Before long, I was considering how I could modify it. I've decided to make it into the very first Talossan Futbol zoomer.

First thing I did was change out the buttons. The hard plastic ones were really thick and had sharp edges. I couldn't find rubber buttons so I swapped them out for some slim, rounded black buttons sew on with red thread. It's already got a number on it, 79 in bright red numbers but it's only on the back. I'll be picking up some smaller numbers for the front as well as some letters, both in red. According to Rule 4b, each player's zoomer must clearly be marked to show your position. I figure a bright red "B" should be enough to say "Hey, I'm a Baquéirs". When all is said and done, I'll post pictures for everyone to see.

    The reason we don't have a model is because I haven't finished it yet. That picture came off of the Old Navy website. I'm thinking that I might add my last name under the numbers but, it's going to be hard with all the little extra bits above the letters :D
