Miestrâ Schivâ | Sixteen citizens out of 19 eligible voted in the elections for the 7th Chamber of Deputies election. This is a small increase in absolute numbers, and a HUGE increase in percentage turnout. A healthy sign for the Republic, I think.
Sixteen votes for five seats means a quota for election of 2.67 votes (rounded to 2 decimal places). Any candidate, therefore, who gets 3 or more votes on the first round will be elected automatically.
The first-preference votes were counted as follows:
You will see therefore that Gjermund Higraff, Eiric Börnatfiglheu and Txec Ereufiglheu have been elected to the Chamber of Deputies on the first count. This leaves Gödafrieu Valcádac'h, Txec dàl Már and Davïu Rôibardét still in contention for the two remaining seats.
The next step in the count will be redistributing the surplus votes from the winning candidates. Back here in an hour.
