Art Verbotten Group: citizens (850 posts total) (last post: March 14, 2008 - 13:16) Citizen #19: Art Verbotten | Sorry about the delays. I'm involved with a convention for work that finishes up tomorrow so my time has been limited to play around with the Flo-Cons. Please accept my apologies for this.
Here are the first few Cons. articles to look at.
Let me know if there are any changes or additions we should discuss on these.
I revised our borders a bit to jive with the actual boundaries of the census tract. The old definitions seemed to be off a bit.
On a side note, all of the Talossan provinces with water boundaries have actually increased in size over the past decade due to abnormally low lake levels (eastern borders) and the removal of a damn on the Milwaukee River (western borders). This has all been accounted for I believe.
Enough already. Here's the articles:

Florencian Constitution--The Articles
I. We proudly name out Province “Florencia” or in proper Talossan “La Provincu Florencia”.
II.The province lies within the following confines: From North Avenue running East to Prospect Ave. From Prospect Ave. southwest to Kane Street. Kane northwest to Farwell Ave. Farwell southwest to Brady St.. Brady St. west to Warren Ave. Warren Ave. north to Boyleston. Boyleston St. west to the Milwaukee River . The Milwaukee River north to North Ave. (See Map 1)
III. All lands and islands man made of naturally forming in Florencian provincial waters are irrevocably part of the provincial territory.
IV. The Provincial Capital is the “Landmark Building” located on the corner of Farwell and North Ave. This notable building is one of the historical landmarks within the Talossan borders and it houses two restaurants, a movie theatre, a bar/bowling alley, and several retail spaces as well as apartments and offices and now the office of the Governor. Should a standing Governor of Florencia Province once again reside in the province, his residence would then become the provincial capital. The residence would then adopt the name “manor” prefaced with the street name (i.e Irving Manor)
V. The Official languages of Florencia Province are Talossan and English.
VI. Florencia will have a flag which will have further definition pending the outcome of the “Provincial Commission on Flag Creation”. Upon creation the flag will appear as “Exhibit 1” in this constitution.
VII. Florencia will have a coat of arms pending the outcome of the “Provincial Commission of Coat of Arms Creation”. Once created, the coat of arms will appear as “Exhibit 2” in this Constitution.
VIII. The Provincial Anthem shall be “Built A Little Empire” by They Might Be Giants. The sentiments expressed in this song’s lyrics strike a chord with Florencia and Talossa in general on so many different levels it is a wonder this isn’t Talossa’s National Anthem.

Articles IX-XI deal with the organization and job descriptions of the provincial government (Governor & Legislature) It seems these articles will be subjected to the biggest revisions we will be making in this Pro-Cons.
The thread below this one, started by Dave, might be a good place discuss these articles and any additional ones we may need to add.
