Davïu Rôibeardét Group: citizens (399 posts total) (last post: March 14, 2008 - 13:42) | Here's what I've come up with. The spelling may be off in some cases. If any Florencian would like to edit, modify or add something, feel free. I think that will add to the symbolic nature of the history of our flag.
The Flag of Florencia bears the colours of the Republic to remind us that we are part of something bigger. The Star is there as a symbol of the pioneers who went before us and who lead us still today. The stylized lily represents the stargazer lily, our provincial flower. Lilies have historically been symbols of majesty, power and ambition; all of which are virtues embodied by the citizens of Florencia. Red represents our struggles against tyranny and white represents the innocents of our actions in the face of oppression.
Independently, these symbols represent who we are; collectivly, they represent what we are..
Florencia.
I'm still working on a description of the CoA. Bear with me, I think I've come down with the flu and I don't feel like doing much. |
