    This is an essential work for Maricopa. Folks in our Regipats province have contacted me recently to let me know that they are watching and are rather intrigued (read they think I am a loon) by our actions... so since I am on speaking terms with folks in the Regipats maybe, just maybe we can work to beat Cezembre in their schtick.

    Now if you have time, Miestra, could you draw up the petition to send to Grubi and Eric and whoever is in Mariiitiiimiii. Peaceful annexation is called for with these provinces, they acknowledge the Destiny of Maricopa already.

    Florencia, however, is a different story. They must be dealt with in an entirely different manner. Their upstart is spreading sedition about in a province that should realize the awesomeness of our Destiny. We simply must deal with the upstart and his followers and then we can circulate the petition amongst the good folk of Florencia who are not under the spell of the lunatic fringe.

    This is Maricopa's day, my fellow citizens. Now onward to a glorious future for Maricopa and the Republic!

    A PETITION TO THE CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES

    GIVEN THAT active and exciting provincial government is an important part of the democratic structure of our Republic, forming a healthy counterbalance to the power of the Federal government, and:

    GIVEN THAT even more than that, active provincial politics, government and culture add to the enjoyability of Talossan citizenship, and hence to our attractiveness to new citizens;

    GIVEN THAT increasing immigration and breathing new life into democracy are both policy goals of the Government of the Republic, and:

    GIVEN THAT, since the Revolution of Calondâ Gün, only Cézembre and Maricopa out of the five Republican provinces have adopted a constitution, and of the others only Florenciâ shows any signs of cultural life;

    We, the undersigned citizens of the Provinces of Maricopa, Port Maxhestic and Maritiimi, do hereby petition the Chamber of Deputies of the Talossan Republic, under the Constitution of the Republic I.3.5, that the Parlamînt of the Republic adopt legislation, to the effect that the provinces of Maricopa, Maritiimi and Pôrt Maxhéstic shall be combined into a single province, under the existing Constitution of the Province of Maricopa.


    If no-one has any problems with the wording, we can start signing our own names onto it, and trying to rustle up people from the other provinces to do likewise. I will get on to M-P myself, and onto Eric B. as soon as his citizenship is restored.
