I would like to test the waters concerning a provincial government for the Port.

Since we are rather small at the moment I believe that we could model ourselves on the concept of direct participatory democracy.

I envision an “Assembly” of all voting age citizens acting as a legislature. The executive could be a very simple “First Minister of Pórt Maxhestic” who is assisted by a “Commissioner of Public Works.” And that would be it, though of course the Assembly could create more commissioners if necessary at a later date. In fact, until we are larger, the First Minister and the CPW could be the same person, that is if no one else wants the job.

The justice system could simply be handled by a Judge of the Provincial Court, who would have jurisdiction over criminal and civil provincial laws and of course be under the superior jurisdiction of the High Court, which would act as the court of final appeal.

This is just a bare bones suggestion to get things going. What do you think?
