I like the idea of having a structure in place to allow cases to rise through the system, thereby creating a system that can regulate and filter (as it were) cases of lesser importance. That makes sure that any case we hear will be valid enough to be dealt with at the highest level. Since currently there is no course for appeal, anything we rule on stands as the equivalent of the law until a succeeding court overturns our decision. Which is pretty darn permanent.

On the other hand, we have so few people to serve on the court as it is and so few cases, I wonder what that would look like. Perhaps we could simply have a two- or three-tier system with a single justice for the lower levels, perhaps as Federal Circuit Courts or the like. That way if the plaintiff in Clockwork vs Mooseknickers doesn't like Federal Circuit Judge Bonetickler's decision, s/he can appeal to the Federal Appeals Judge Noisewater. And if Clockwork is still unhappy, s/he can then apply to have the case heard by the High Court. This would require at least two judges (at least one per level) and a proper Clerk of the Court (which I believe we're supposed to have) who would determine whether or not the case had proper merit to be heard by the H.C.

I would also like to see if someone would sue someone else or SOMETHING so that we can establish an official protocol for handling cases and formatting the decisions.
