Jay Shorten		I have had a long vacation and rest and now am slowly ready to resume my duties. However, if we're in the middle of a referendum, it would make more sense for me to wait until the referendum is over.

    We are not in the middle of a referendum. The acting SoS, for some reason, has not made it happen.

    Is anything happening with this? A referendum on a constitutional amendment might be just what we need to get past the recent sniping.

    Alternatively: if you're bogged down there's no hurry. We could have it at the same time as the impending by-election if you prefer.
