It is traditional in Republican constitutions after a revolution to kick out the entire Royal family, since the problem is with the institution of monarchy, not the individuals involved. In Italy after the War, King Victor Emmanuel (who'd collaborated with Mussolini) abdicated in favour of his son; that didn't stop the Italian people kicking the whole lot out.
