Miestrâ Schivâ | Firstly, I ask for an indicative vote on the following question:
Should the constitutional prohibition on citizenship apply to just the former King and Queen, or to all members of the Royal Family?
I would vote for the latter, on the grounds that (a) "that's how they do it in real countries" (see, this is why I'm not in the MRP :), and (b) we don't want anyone with even a *claim* to be the "rightful King of Talossa" around the place.
Secondly, here is the final draft of Topic Eight for your approval:
ARTICLE EIGHT: CITIZENSHIP
1. As at the ratification of this Constitution, the citizens of the Republic of Talossa shall be the signers of the Declaration of Independence; as well as all those individuals who have been granted citizenship under the jurisdiction of the Provisional Governing Council.
2. Hereinafter, citizenship shall be determined by law.
3. No member of the former royal family of Talossa, the House of Rouergue, shall be admitted as a citizen of the Republic.
OR
3. The former King and Queen of Talossa, Robert Ben Madison and Amy Durnford, shall be barred from citizenship in the Republic.
4. Throughout this Constitution, the words "Talossan citizen" shall include any Talossan citizenship prior to the passing of this Constitution.
