Or, to be slightly more serious; it was to be an intermicronational organization, but we eventually gave up on the idea. At least for the foreseeable future.

honestly, I have never met in my short life a micronational organisation which would be either functional or at least has some aim behind these UN-like blah blah on better communication, help and whatsoever else ;) all these LOSS, United micronations, Grand alliance or ESTO, all end it that point where they are found pointless...

M-P Furxhéir, whose hobby-horse this was, basically said that the point of ESTO would be that the Republic would offer its computer savvy and webspace to micronations, and thereby become some kind of superpower. The fate of the Republic's own super-duper database kind of shows up the flaw in that idea - when the super-duper computer genius gets bored or too busy, then the thing becomes less than useless.

The continued existence of this forum bing a case in point. Unless someone else can close it? By the way, if these posts make M-P's spider sense tingle, any chance he could transfer those domain names, now Online NIC is working again?

Well I'll talk. I've always thought these sounded interesting in theory, but not in practice. The problem with them I see is that there isn't really much time to spend propping up a thriving intermicronational organisation and keeping your own micronation humming along too. The danger is that the I.M.O. withers on the vine from lack of interest, or becomes more active than the nations it is supposed to represent (which is what has happened to the micronations in the Grand Commonwealth).

The other problem is that after you hold elections and design a logo, there doesn't seem to be much to do.

And, wasn't the I.M.O. that Talossa started the League of Seperatist States? There is still a website for this.

This is more or less what we concluded, so we decided to keep it simple. It wasn't a bad idea, just premature. That and no one else was much interested outside Septempontia, and even they weren't all that keen after a while.
