I don't think the law is explicit on the point, but the method should be uniform for everyone-so if there is an electronic method, then it should be used for everyone. Otherwise we'd be running two parallel elections and disaster will strike.

    > 4. Besides a post in the Mitchell Building, am I obliged to contact each elector individually with a notice of the election? If so, where are the addresses/e-mails kept?
Txec should be able to help you-or else Iensâ and/or Ian. Txec shoukd also be familiar with the questions you had on the dates.

    > 5. Am I allowed to post a list during the election of those who have voted and those who are yet to vote, or does 2.6 forbid this?
From the point of view of secrecy of the ballot, posting a list of those who are left to vote would not be advisable. Voting is not compulsory, there's no reason to single out publicly those who have not voted while the election is running. After the election a list of participants is posted for audit purposes-we saw the usefulness of this after the last election.

    > 6. If someone wants to be bilingual, I presume they are allowed as many 50-word statements as there are languages?
The 50-word statement is just that, I should think-they can include multiple languages if they wish, but cannot go over 50 words. Don't confuse us with Canada!

    > 7. Once the ballot box has closed, must I announce the complete results all at once, or may I release partial counts a few votes at a time to allow the pundits during the television coverage of the election to make predictions, explanations, analysis, etc.?
We've always issued results complete-especially as we cannot properly calculate the distribution of seats without the complete results. I think this is a precedent it would be well to guard.

    > 8. Have I forgotten anything?
Yes, undoubtedly. But then so have I!
