Nope - two entirely unrelated matters. Except that if the 9th fails then I suppose the 10th becomes the 9th. :)

You will have to sort this out with the Immigration Minister - it's totally up to her what she accepts in lieu of photo ID (see the Immigration Code 2(b)). I suppose you could sight the registered-mail proof of Girðorásch's address and then write Iensâ a letter saying "this guy's kosher". Perhaps even send a copy to the High Court so it becomes a formal affadavit.
