> You are confusing the Government with the Chamber. The Government can operate perfectly well while the Chamber is in recess, as long as it doesn't want to pass any laws. The new GVN (Governamáintsch dŕl Viensitâ Naziunál) will definitely not be going on vacation....
For starters we have to figure out how to get STV done with Miestra's very real concerns about parties keeping the fabric together around here. I still haven't figured that one out totally.

> The Seneschál has said to me, though, that part of the problem with our politics may be that the Chamber is always in session. How many months of the year does the German Bundestag sit for? I bet it's not 12. The NZ Parliament sits between 5 or 7 months depending on necessity. The legislature of the State of Texas sits for one month every two years, I seem to recall. Not having the Chamber *always* "on" will allow Deputies to recharge their batteries and cool off from fights.

Doesn't our Kingdom counterpart take lots of vacations? I seem to recall them working a month and taking a month off.
The Texas legislature is *obligated* to serve about a month every two years. In practise however they serve a couple of months every year. Our state budget, which causes most of the wrangling, is larger than that of most African national governments combined. I think our State GDP is listed as the 15th largest economy in the world. So a couple of months a year is not that bad really.
> Anyway, I don't know about you, but the Republic's politics have become too bitter and nasty for me recently, and it will do us all good to have a break.

I most definitely agree.
