I'd say that of course there is a choice. Witt is working no better and no worse than it has during the last year. It's up most of the time, and then it goes down for a couple of days now and then. The alternative to moving to Witt XIe is to say that the ups and downs of Witt XI are good enough for us.

Fair enough, but how many people stopped by when "no forum specified" was all the rage, and subsequently left? And who on earth finds the month of bickering over domain names and database administration that occurs after every outage entertaining or edifying?
If we pay for our hosting, then its the providers responsibility to get it fixed-and if they do not, we move, because we're not getting what we paid for. If we are not paying for the service then we have to take our place in line, and thats perfectly fair-and I don't blame M-P in the least if he is completely fed up with our moaning at this point, since he obviously has more important things to be getting on with.
Pshaw, I say. The important point is not the forum software, its the community facilitated by it. I'd take a Yahoo Group if I knew it was there when I needed it to be and that there was something interesting to read when I logged on. Is that the case on Wittenberg these days? Nova Roma do their communicating through a mailing list. They party like its 1999, literally.
Its something to think about, is all. And now perhaps I should return to radio silence, since I seem to have caused more trouble than anything else, as per usual.
