Speaking from the point of view of a Romance speaker I suggest to use

S:dâ for (young, under 40) unmarried women
D:nâ all the others.

In Italy Signorina (Ms) is used for unmarried women, and if you adress to a 35 unmarried woman with Signora (Mrs) she'll take offence!.. Anyway since they are 40, they prefered to be called Signora (Mrs) because Signorina (Ms) is too connected with
