If I like it I think I would use it for my Talossan surname.

It's not in the dictionary, and looking up "hexagon" (which a wargamer would be sure to include in a dictionary), I find that only its colloquial form, hex, is included, translated as "hex".

But octane is "octanâ" and diagonal is "diagonál", so it should be exactly the same in Talossan: "octagon."

Hmmmm, not exactly what I was hoping for. Is there any way to sex it up a bit, I mean a sort of neologism? Like eight-sided-shape or something?

According to my intarwebz searching, your name is a variant pronunciation of the name "Guy Welsh". In el glheþ naziunál, that becomes Vitz Vialësch. I think it sounds cool.

My name as in my surname as well? I don't think Vaught would mean Welsh, but Vaughan is a Welsh name I think. Vaught is a early American corruption of the german Vogt, which was the title of a minor funtionary in the Holy Roman Empire, I think (help, Dieter!). I think I might keep Wyatt rather than use Vitz, but I would like a new surname.

So, that begs the question, what did our Berber forefathers call minor funtionaries in the Holy Roman Empire?

"Vogt" to English is "reeve", says dict.leo.org. Waah. My dentist's name is Vogt. ;-)

Well, how about it, boffins? What's the Talossan for 'reeve?'

Surely the need for such a word has come up in Talossan linguistic circles previously??!!
