    * There is in fact no "canonical" Talossan word for "octagon" - or indeed any other noun for a regular polyhedron that I could derive it from by analogy. The Talossan words for "triangle" and "square" are utterly unhelpful - we can only conclude that the founder of the language was not a mathematical brain. Therefore, I have given you a word which means "thing which has eight sides".

    we have "osmihran" (of eight edges), "osmistěn" (of eight corners) or "osmiúhelník" (of eight angles) or "oktagon" :)

    The nifty thing, however, is theat the Swedish word doesn't mean "eight sides", but precisely "eight-sided thingy". It's the -ing suffix that does this trick.
