I have been a member of this Chamber ever since it was founded. I have sat through six consecutive terms of the Chamber of Deputies, with fourteen (by my count) different colleagues, three-and-a-half of them as your Seneschál. I have achieved some mighty legislative feats, and made some catastrophic blunders, but rest assured they were all made with the interests of our glorious Republic and its future at heart.

My last achievement is the statement of principles on relations between the two Talossan states, which I swear I never thought I would actually get through this Chamber. Of course, it is now up to the people of the Republic to decide whether it gets enshrined into law. But it seems a good time for me to say "enough is enough".

Amats amici, in accordance with Federal Code III.9.1, 4.7 (a), I hereby announce my resignation from the Chamber of Deputies, effective immediately. I believe there is a provision in law whereby, since my seat becomes vacant within one month of a scheduled dissolution, there is no need of a by-election.

I have asked the President of the Republic, effective as of my resignation, to nominate me as Secretary of State - a nomination which I hope my erstwhile colleagues will support.

    Miestrâ's work on the legal aspect of our nationette is - well, let me put it this way: it may be that there would be no constitution or whatnot without her. Or at least our document would not be what it is today but for her diligent efforts over the past three-and-a-half years.

    Miestrâ, many thanks for all the work you have put into this Chamber. Talossa is a better place because of you.

    Miestrâ Schivâ    		S:reu Túischac'h, esteemed Deputies, a standing ovation for Miestrâ Schivâ, please.

    We (I and Miestrâ, that is) often disagreed massively, but she always did what she did for the benefit of the Republic. Luckily, she is not leaving us, she's just willing to take on yet another office that is crucial for the well-being (one might even say: the survival) of our nationette.

    Gentlemen, please give her a big applause. :-)

    I will try to get the Laws Updated before you take office.
    I have a lot of work to do. =)
