It is hereby proposed that we amend it as follows and finally implement it in its entirety: > > 1. Formal ownership of the following domain names and associated webspace shall be as soon as practicable vested in the Republic of Talossa, with the President of the Republic acting as the Republic's legal representative: > > * talossa.com > * talossa.net > * talossa.info > * talossa-gov.com > * talossaonline.com > * republicoftalossa.com > > The President of the Republic shall henceforth be responsible for negotiating the provision of said domains and associated webspace with Internet Service Providers. The above domain names and associated webspace shall be known as "the national webspace". > > shall be amended to > > 1. The following domain names and associated webspace are the common property of the people of the Republic of Talossa: > > talossa.com > talossa.net > talossa.org > talossa.info > talossaonline.com > republicoftalossa.com > republicoftalossa.net > talossan-language.com > talossapedia.com The Talossa-related domains I own, and that should imho be clearly the property of the Republic are: talossa.biz talossa.info talossa.tv talossa.us talossapedia.com talossapedia.org talossawiki.com talossawiki.org I also own talossacast.com, but I will keep that for myself. > > and shall be administered by the Government of the Republic of Talossa. The above domain names and their associated webspace shall be known as "the national webspace". > > Federal Code Sections V.4.1.2 - V.4.1.3 are left unamended > > 4. The Secretary of State and the Minister of Information shall jointly nominate a Webspace and Database Administrator, who shall be responsible for the practical and technical maintenance of the national webspace. > > shall be amended to > > 4. The Minister for Technology shall be responsible for the practical and technical maintenance of the National Webspace. > > 5. The Minister of Information is hereby comissioned to provide an Official Report on how best to compensate the current legal owners of the above domain names and webspace, and on how the Republic might continue to maintain domain registration and webhosting in future. This report shall in particular discuss whether registering the Talossan Republic as a non-profit incorporated society would facilitate these issues. > > shall be amended to > > 5. The Minister for Finance shall prepare separate legislation detailing the costs related to the ownership of the national webspace and a plan for the collection of voluntary contributions from citizens to pay for these costs. I would like to see some sort of legal incorporation for the Republic, but I can understand the desire to put that on hold for a little while. Additionally, what about other domain names like talossa.cn, etc. Indeed, should we even put the domain names in the body of the text of this legislation? What about a "Register of Domain Names" or something like that? The reason I ask this is that whenever a new domain name pops up will force us to possibly have to amend the legislation over and over again. Otherwise, this proposal looks good.
