If ministers want to introduce legislation let them post it here first, so that there fellow Ministers can comment on it constructively before it gets into the legislative process. They don't have to, buts lets try to be collegial-the legislation will be better, and it will set a good precedent for future governments that are not necessarily going to be "Ministries of All the Talents".
Dieter has been saying that we need to set priorities-so lets start. Whats important? Whats to be done? We should I think try to organise ourselves legislatively around the priorities that we decide. If Trappings of Nationhood come first, then that Bill should be first off the block, for example.
My suggested (and incomplete) set of priorities would be:
-The Census (which should be very shortly underway by MS)
-Updating the Webspace content-with a study of new software parallel to this which we should end by November.
-A Budget, for all the things we'd like to do in the next six months. I volunteer as Finance Minister, btw, if no one else is doing it.
-Trappings of Nationhood-wouldn't it be great to see our highest public official(s) in official portraits with a real flag for Foundation Day?
Pan-Talossan Affairs is a ongoing process that will not be resolved today or tomorrow, but that can be discussed elsewhere. However I can't see that there will be any major developments in this term. Our energy should be focused on getting things done in the Republic, IMHO.
It should be noted that none of the above is set in stone for me-so lets have at it and see if we can't get moving on the critical or potentially beneficial issues first.
