I think that involvement with the LOSS is worth the Republic's time, for a few reasons. Firstly, for the reason that Miestra stated... we need water in which to swim. Secondly, also from Miestra, is that LOSS is a historically Talossan institution. If I recall properly, one of our citizens (Justice Verbotten) was a signatory to the first charter.

But also, it will provide contacts with the rest of the micronational community. Start getting our name (and link) out there for more to see. It will help to show us as amiable, capable, and enthusiastic about our project.

I can act a the contact person if the government so wishes. I've still got some older personal contacts among the member nations, particularly in Reunion and Zarahemla.

I'll give you an idea of my LOSS experience, just to provide some background. I served as Amador's ambassador for roughly a year before I handed it over to the Foreign Minister. Amador joined during the time where Matt Dabrowski was serving as the Kingdom's delegate. One of our first major involvements was leading the opposition to Dabrowski's "Micronational Apartheid" bill that would have segregated the LOSS into special councils (the "bug" council, the "microstate council", etc) to better serve their constituent states. It was shortly after this that the Kingdom of Talossa declared that LOSS was "bug-ridden" and left the LOSS, cutting off all diplomatic relations with other nations, including the fledgling relationship between Talossa and Amador.

After this, during Leys' second term as SG, I believe, I handed things over to my Foreign Minister, in order to try and revitalize things on the home front.

For that, I thank you. But I would like the opinion of the cabinet and Republic as a whole. While I think that pursuit of LOSS membership and involvement is a good thing, this is only an unofficial opinion that belongs to me and seems to be echoed through other unofficial channels.

Should I go ahead and start knocking on this particular door, or should the government perhaps propose a resolution to the CoD?

The first step is to visit the LOSS and to find out if it's worth an attempt to get involved there. All of the government's next steps will depend on your expertise.
