that is exactly my point. so, we agree on it.

i would oppose here. if CÚG wants not collaborate in this matter, we should prepare our stuff. how we can be sure their stuff will be available for us too? they are secretive either cos they do not want to share or they want be credited solely for it or they think we are not worth partners. none of these keeps the spirit of ACGT. else, i see no other rational reason for not working on it together. plus, none of these assures we will have an access to the once made materials.
